Your field trip begins on Saturday January 18, 2020, with an afternoon Belize International Airport pick-up. We will begin birding as we leave the airport on our way to Cooked Tree Preserve, about a 90 minute drive. While using the Birds Eye View Lodge we bird the river by boat, the local village, the tropical forest, savanna/pine forest and open grass lands. We’ll use this location for two days before moving on into the Yucatan Peninsula. We will be using the La Milpa Field Station as our base for the next three days. During this period of the field trip we will bird the Rio Bravo Conservation Area plus the Mayan Ruins and areas north into the Corozal District, along the Corozal Bay shore small fishing villages, conservation preserves and wetlands. The field trip concludes on Friday afternoon January 24th, at Belize International Airport or the Best Western Hotel near the airport.
