Guatemala City Park birding in local Hot Spots, Tarrales Coffee Plantation, Antigua + Antigua Lake, Pine Forest, Grasslands, Regional Parks, and more. Six days of focused birding using selected comfortable lodging and hotels, with late afternoon leisure time. Without the need for lengthy daily driving. April 11: Plan to arrive in Guatemala City on Saturday. I have reserved your room at the Hilton Hampton Inn Hotel in Guatemala City. The Hotel does not have an airport shuttle. By taxi, the ride is 30 minutes. Taxis take U.S.A. credit cards. I will help you coordinate flights so that we travel together or meet at the Guatemala City Airport.

Guatemala Birding Tours begin on April 11, 2026, with a meet-and-greet dinner at the Hotel. Our Van will meet us at the Hotel in the morning after check-out. You must arrive in Guatemala City on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Day One, April 12, 2026

Visit the Guatemala City Park Cayalá on the way to Tarrales in the afternoon. We’ll have late afternoon birding in the Tarrales. Dinner, Breakfast, and lunch at Tarrales. Two nights’ lodging in Tarrales Eco-lodge. A late morning birding stop at the Parque Arqueológico Kaminaljuyú and the Parque Cayalaa en route to Tarrales Eco-Lodge and coffee plantation. Dinner and lodging at Tarrales.

April 13, Day 2: Two days of Birding in Tarrales coffee plantation, a private eco-lodge for two nights of lodging, and two days of birding in the various habitats of the eco-lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the eco-lodge dining room.

April 14, Day 4: Mid-morning start to Parque Regional Zunil, the Pink-headed Warbler chase, and other neotropical warblers. Lunch at Zunil. Afternoon transfer to the Santiago Atitlán Hotel Bambu. Birding at the Atitlán lake spot sites and the grounds of the Bambu. Lodging at Bambu Hotel. Dinner in the hotel restaurant, which is a Typical Guatemalan restaurant. Morning transfer to Antigua.

April 15, Day 5: Birding Antigua – San Marcos Providence Birding and lodging in the city of Antigua, founded in 1580.

April 16, Day 6: Two days of Birding in Antigua and at Fuentes Georgina’s farm, offering diverse forest and open grassland habitats. We’ll use the local restaurants in the City of Antigua or our Hotel for our meals. One restaurant where we’ll have lunch is the Rincón Suizo Restaurant.

April 17, Day 7 Return to Guatemala City, then flights home: Breakfast – Birding El Pilar farm for hummingbirds, and then transferring to the airport. Return to Guatemala City, a 90-minute drive. The trip ends in Guatemala City.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may need to stay an evening in Guatemala City, which is not included in your trip fee.
