I have traveled the world with the leading large venue birding tour companies. This small group venue was the first time I had a tour guide spend time with me to get the bird photo I wanted. Rich showed us 26 different Sage Thrashers in Mono County, CA. I took many poor photos, but he stuck with me until the last four hours of the trip’s last day at the Bridgeport Reservoir; I shot my best photo of the trip, a keeper! Rich is an excellent field guide; he knows where to find the birds I needed, is calm and focused, and has a sense of humor during the day.
